My Daily Skincare Routine

I struggled with acne and scarring growing up, so finding a skincare routine that worked for me was such a relief.

It took a few years of going to the dermatologist and trying endless different products. Eventually, I figured out what works for my skin and I’ve stuck to it for years on end.

Don’t get me wrong, I still have the occasional breakout. Everyone does.

But this daily routine has really helped me.

I’m obviously no dermatologist or skin expert of any kind, so here is my unprofessional advice on skincare lol.

1. Clearasil Rapid Rescue Deep Treatment Scrub

This stuff is amazing. It’s a gentle exfoliator, which I love because I can feel the little beads cleaning everything off my skin.

I put some water on my face, use about an almond size dollop, and gently apply. (Rinse after obviously)

I don’t scrub super hard since it does have those beads throughout. Just a gentle massage!

Naz is hooked on this stuff too, I’m not alone! He always uses it right after he’s done at the gym.

2. Neutrogena Make Up Remover (Only at night)

The skin around my eyes is extremely sensitive, and this is the only make up remover that doesn’t irritate it.

Others I’ve tried have made my skin burn or get super dry afterward.

Everyone’s skin is different so if yours is sensitive, this might be something to try!

3. Benzoyl Peroxide 10%

This works wonders. Right now I have the Clean and Clear brand, but there are tons of off brands and what not that work just as well! I always just look for the active ingredient (it usually says right on the front and the bottles are all about this size/shape) and then I choose the cheapest one lol.

I use about a pea size amount on my whole face every morning and night, and it can be used as a face mask or spot treatment when need be.

It can dry your face out a bit though, so I highly recommend putting on moisturizer after!

4. Eucerin Advanced Repair

This probably isn’t your typical moisturizer. I feel like everyone always has cute fancy kinds, but this is my all time favorite! I mentioned it in my 10 Things I Can’t Live Without post, but seriously this stuff is amazing.

I started using it about a year ago when I was having problems with the skin on my neck getting super dry (still have no idea why haha) and this was my saving grace.

It makes my skin really soft and instantly fixes any dry spots I may have.

5. Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme+

I started using this product a couple years ago when my mom and I each got a little sample size in a gift basket that came with another purchase.

We both instantly Loved it and haven’t gone a day without it since then!

I know I’m only 22 years old and probably don’t need an anti-aging cream yet; however, I don’t think you can start too early.

Having clear skin brings so much more confidence and comfort on a daily basis. I think finding skincare products that work for you is so relieving and really eliminates a lot of stress.

Which also helps with acne because sometimes those breakouts come from stress too!

Heres to hoping this was helpful for anyone looking to try something new for their skin!

Happy Memorial Day weekend people!

  1. Well, I have to tell ya that I love the Eucerin Advanced Repair Lotion and I’m so glad you steered me on to that. My feet and legs are dry in the winter and sometimes even in the summer. I love this stuff and it really works. My granddaughters are going through the acne phase right now and it looks like the treatment plan and daily skin regimen they are both on is working very very well. Even at my age I will get an occasional zit. I just tell Ray I’m going thru puberty all over again. Yep, we both laugh at that one. Until next blog, take care and have a wonderful Memorial Day with Naz and Cali girl.

  3. Ashley,
I’m such a rule follower, and because the Eucerin moisturizer doesn’t specifically say for use on your “face,” I would have assumed I should not use it on my face. (No laughing!) Four of your five product recommendations are clearly skincare products for your face. Do you occasionally use the Eucerin on your face, too? This past winter I had some rough spots that my Cetaphil “face” moisturizer didn’t help at all. This made my make up more difficult to apply. I may look into this product. I’m also 38 now and needed an anti-aging cream suggestion. I dislike weighing through the hundreds of products out there. So, I’ll start with your suggestion.:)

Hey Laurel! Yes I use the eucerin on my face every morning and night! I used to use a “face” specific one years back too but using regular lotion has worked much better for me! I used the Vaseline regular lotion (can’t remember exactly what it was called) for a while and that was great too. I like the eucerin better though to be honest, it’s super soft and light which I Love because it doesn’t feel like thick on my skin. (Great for applying make up after!) I would highly recommend giving it a try!

And I’m confident you will love the anti aging cream, it is super soft as well, smells amazing, and is very refreshing!
