What’s up guys, we’re almost to the weekend… we can do this, I believe in us!

I also believe that I’ve got another winner to announce!!! (Best part of my day!) The day 5 giveaway winner is…

Meg Peterson!!!!!

Congratulations I’ll be sending you a sherpa blanket and a pair of Field & Stream cabin fuzzy socks! (These are the coziest socks in the world in case you were wondering.)

I know I’ve told you a million times already how much I’m loving these giveaways, but seriously guys this is awesome. My heart is so full from all of the support you guys have given already. And it’s so cool for me to learn a little bit more about each of you.

For my fellow dog lovers, you’re going to Love this one.

Quick story time. For those of you who are new around here, (WELCOME!) I am the biggest dog lover you will ever encounter, ever. My family says I have a dog radar because I see and say hi to every single dog I cross paths with. No. Matter. What.

I found my sweet pup, Calli, abandoned outside last winter. You can read the full story here if you’d like, but just know I have an extra special place in my heart for rescue pups.

That being said, a few weeks ago my mom and I were in the Starbucks drive thru, where we saw a sign on their window. It stated that they we’re taking donations for the local Humane Society pups this holiday season. You can drop off food, toys, bones, etc. that they will then take for the animals to have gifts this season too.

My heart about melted into my latte when I read that, and of course we went right to the store to pick up some goodies for the pups. On our way out of the store, we decided we would take the stuff to the Humane Society ourselves. We wanted to see the cuties that would be receiving the goods. (Perfect excuse to play with doggies right?!)

Last night we took our stuff over to drop off. The look on the woman’s face that accepted our donation for the doggies really took me by surprise. You would’ve thought we handed her a million dollars.

My heart is so full knowing that we were only one of many donations made to some sweet animals this holiday season. I’m Loving Starbucks a little extra lately for incorporating this into their holiday efforts. Please consider donating something if you’re able. Those dogs can’t control their situation and deserve just as much Love as the pups in our homes.

Cue Sarah McLachlan…

If you do treat the pups, this is a friendly reminder that most of them are not little fluff balls. A lot of them look a little bit like Calli, which really just breaks my heart even more, but it’s true. Most of them are big dogs – a lot of them are pitbulls. That being said, they’re strong and need toys that can withstand that.

Calli LOVES Nylabones and it’s the only toy she is allowed to have because she can’t eat the entire thing in ten minutes. One of these will last her months at a time. We included a couple of these in our donation and the woman actually tracked us down to thank us for those bones specifically. She said that is the best toy for the type of dogs they typically have, but they rarely get those bones because they do cost a little bit more.

Just thought I’d share for anyone thinking of dropping off some toys – this is a great option! (Also a great option for anyone to try for their own dogs! They have a TON of different options and chewing levels for every type of dog. I linked Calli’s favorite above.)

Heres a photo of my sweet Calli girl because she is just the cutest little stinkin thing.

Alright so after all of that, I’m here to help support some dog loving efforts with this gift. To enter the day 5 giveaway:

  • Comment on this Facebook post with a photo of your dog or any cute pup if you don’t have one of your own

I’m obnoxiously excited to look at these all day.

Impatiently awaiting your photos,

-AP
