Lately I’ve been traveling like a ridiculous amount, so I’ve decided to put together a list of my top travel tips for you guys to check out and consider for your next adventure!

On one of my last flights I was talking to a woman in line who was probably in her mid thirties and on her second flight ever in her entire life. This really opened my eyes as to how much I’ve really been on the move lately.

To put things into perspective, yesterday I flew on my 14th flight of 2018. That’s a lot of air miles!!

Needless to say, I’ve got the packing thing down and can manage airports better than ever.

Here are some of the things I’ve learned and my top tips for those of you looking for advice!

You don’t need to pack as much as you think.

I’m so guilty of over packing (I still do lol) but seriously I almost never wear half of the stuff I have in my bag. So do as I say, not as I do haha.

Bring an empty water bottle.

You’ll save money on the expensive stuff at the airport, and you won’t have to buy water bottles when you get to your destination. (If you’re going out of the country make sure you check to see if the water is drinkable or not though.)

Don’t buy airport snacks.

Sometimes this is unavoidable; however, pack a granola bar or some almonds in your purse and you’ll save money and time in the airport.

Wear sneakers in the airport.

This will help save weight in your checked bag, and it will ensure you have socks on when going through security. There’s nothing worse than kicking off your flip flops and havingĀ  to walk through security barefoot…so gross!

Wear short sleeves and a sweater on the plane.

I always wear pants and a tank top with a sweater on my flight. The temperature of planes is never consistent so this will help you adjust to a hot or chilly flight. Also, you can fold up the sweater for a pillow if you need a nap haha. I try to wear my heaviest options to help with the weight of my overpacked bag lol.

Stuff your shoes with socks.

I highly recommend doing this if you’re packing boots, because it really helps keep their shape and it saves room in your bag. It really works for any shoes though! It also helps you remember to pack socks lol.

Pack an extra outfit in your carry on.

If I’m going somewhere tropical I always pack a swimsuit and flip flops in my carry on. If your bags don’t show or your room isn’t ready you can change quick in the lobby bathroom, head to the beach, and you won’t care much about whatever problems you thought you had lol.

Research the area ahead of time.

Check out the area you’re headed to and decide on a few things you know you want to do, so you don’t spend your trip sitting in the room trying to figure out what to do.

Use your airlines app.

You’ll have your boarding pass on your phone, which will most likely be in your pocket. Much easier to access/remember as opposed to keeping track of the paper and keeping it dry and not torn up. Sometimes things can get a little hectic in the security line lol. I do recommend taking a screenshot of your boarding pass though just in case you have issues getting it to pull up when the time comes.

The app will also allow you to check in without having to stand in line at the airport which is always a plus!

Wake up early and stay up late.

Yes this may mean taking a little afternoon snooze and that’s totally fine (set an alarm though haha.) You’ll be glad you didn’t sleep in every morning or knock out at 9pm every night when you look back at your trip.

Take pictures and then put down your phone.

Obviously you’re going to want photos to remember your trip and show your friends/family when you get back; however, make sure you spend more time enjoying your trip than photographing it. You’ll think of the memories more than you’ll look at the pictures.

Last but not least, here is the new luggage Naz just got for me and I’m obsessed!!!

Happy Traveling!
